From the products we use and our approach to system design to the way we install and configure products – everything we do is focused on offering our clients the best value and performance for their dollar. Let’s look at few of the key factors that make an Extreme Audio installation better.
Wiring
Now, we aren’t saying that every shop around us is a disaster and will burn your car to the ground. There are many ways to run wires, make electrical connections and protect wiring from damage as it runs through the vehicle. Radio and amplifier installations, right up to complex remote car starter systems with cellular GPS tracking, all need reliable, tidy wiring. Electrical connections should be both mechanically and electrically secure. We protect wires from the elements and damage due to vibration or proximity to potentially damaging surfaces in the vehicle. Our experience, combined with our carefully practiced techniques, ensure that once we make a connection, it is permanent and reliable.
Where we make connections is as important as how we make them. We have trained our technicians in safe methods of testing wires to ensure that the signal we expect to see on them is correct. Whether we are confirming a door lock or trunk release for a security system or testing the output of a factory radio or amplifier to add a new amplifier, we have the right tools and techniques to test everything accurately and safely.
Installation Methods
Let’s look at something simple, like the installation of a speaker in a door. Most factory speakers have built-in mounting adapters and spacers. When we upgrade those speakers to something that sounds better, we need to make new adapters. Many shops build spacer rings out of MDF or other kinds of wood. Materials like MDF absorb water, then they swell up and deform. We have even seen cases where mold has begun to grow.
We make all of our space rings out of ABS plastic sheet. We clone the mounting adapter shape from the factory speaker on our router table to ensure a perfect fit every time. The ABS plastic will never fail due to water. To further enhance the performance of a speaker upgrade, we offer products like Fast Rings that help seal the new speaker against the door panel. The addition of a layer or two of Roadkill sound-deadening will not only improve the sound of the speaker; it also reduces noise in the vehicle. You can turn a moderately priced subcompact into a luxury car experience with enough sound-deadening.
