A client from Chesterfield brought their 2023 Polaris Slingshot to Extreme Audio for a massive audio system upgrade. The three-wheeler already had a radio and a subwoofer, but the system lacked the features they wanted and definitely didn’t play loud enough. After inspecting the vehicle and doing some research, we put together a proposal to bring the system to life.
We started by replacing the existing radio with a Soundstream Reserve SS.1824 radio that’s designed specifically for this application. Next, we added DS18 SLG-FKP6V2 kick panel pods. We installed JL Audio M3-650X-S-GM-I 6.5-inch coaxial speakers and a set of DS18 PRO-TWX3TI tweeters to create a solid front stage. Next, we installed SSV Works SS-B65U rear speaker pods in the housings behind the driver’s and passenger’s headrests. Another set of JL Audio M3 coaxial speakers found a home here. The last speaker upgrade was to add a second DS18 LG-RSUB10LD subwoofer behind the passenger seat.
The system is powered by an ARC Audio X2-1100.5 five-channel amp. The amp is mounted on the floor under the passenger seat. We used the amplifier’s built-in crossovers to split the radio’s audio signal to the front and rear speakers and the subwoofer, so everything would play loudly and clearly.

With all the upgrades installed, the client returned to Extreme Audio to audition the new Polaris Slingshot sound system. They were thrilled with the bass, the overall system balance, and the system’s volume.
