A client from Chesterfield recently stopped at our Midlothian location, looking for a 2013 Toyota Camry backup camera solution. After taking a look at the vehicle and discussing some options, we came up with a perfect plan for his needs.
Many of the 2012–2015 Toyota, Scion and Subaru vehicles are equipped with a factory 6.1” LCD touchscreen that was designed to have a backup camera added to them by the factory. One of our manufacturer partners, PAC Audio, makes an adapter for adding the camera. Once plugged into the back of the factory Camry radio, the radio automatically switches to the backup camera when the driver puts the Camry in reverse.
For the camera, this client really wanted something that would look like it came with the car from the factory. He really liked the low profile of the Audiovox ACA501 camera. Once added to the vehicle, the Audiovox camera is barely noticeable, but gives a great wide-angle view behind the Camry. It also has optional lines that give you a reference for how close you are to objects while you’re backing up.
The client was so happy with the Camry backup camera installation that he came back the next week to have the same thing installed on his father’s 2013 Avalon!
