A client from Prince George was referred to Extreme Audio for assistance in upgrading the stereo in his 2019 Ford F-250. After looking at our online reviews and browsing our website, he was impressed by our qualifications and decided to drop by. He wanted the stereo to play louder, sound clearer and produce more bass. After inspecting the truck and talking with the client about his listening habits, we let him audition several speaker, amplifier and subwoofer options in our showroom. Based on his preferences, we put together a system that would deliver the audio performance he wanted.
Audiofrog and JBL Speaker Upgrade
The project started with our team removing the front and rear speakers from the vehicle. We created a set of mounting adapters that would let the woofer from an Audiofrog G60S component set bolt into the factory door speaker location. We always use plastic for our adapters so that they won’t deform or rot as wood might. The tweeter from the speaker set is mounted in the factory tweeter location. For rear speakers, we used a set of JBL Stadium GTO620 coaxial speakers in the back doors.
Subwoofer and Amplifier for Ford F-250 Stereo
A crucial part of making the system play louder was the addition of a subwoofer to the truck. The client chose a JL Audio 10-inch 10TW3-D4 subwoofer in an MTI Acoustics enclosure. The enclosure fits nicely against the back wall of the truck behind the passenger side of the rear seat. We installed an ARC Audio X2 850.5 five-channel amplifier to power the system. This amp can produce as much as 85 watts to each of the front speakers and an impressive 400 watts to the subwoofer. We mounted the amp against the back wall of the truck on the opposite side of the subwoofer.
Richmond’s Pickup Truck Audio Upgrade Experts
The client was thrilled with the improvement in the clarity and detail of the system. He loved how the subwoofer made his music sound richer and warmer. If your pickup truck, SUV or car needs a stereo system upgrade, drop by Extreme Audio in Mechanicsville or Midlothian. You can also reach our team by phone or by e-mail using our online contact form.

Looking for Behind the seat sub box and subs, for F150 Limited 2019. Looking for hard hitting, 500w Rms. Can you help
Mike Bartells says
This is definitely something we can help you out with. Best bet would be to swing by our Midlothian location when you have an opportunity. Our technician there has the same truck with a sub behind the seat. It will help give us a reference as to whether that’s the performance you’re looking for, or if you’d like more. 11507 Hull St. Rd.
