If you live in the Richmond area and want to upgrade the radio in your 1998 through 2013 Harley-Davidson touring bike, the new Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 is for you! This purpose-built digital media receiver was designed as a direct-fit upgrade for these motorcycles. It has all the source features you want, along with the legendary reliability that our clients have come to expect from Rockford Fosgate.
Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 Features
Based on the same reliable platform as Rockford’s marine source units, the new PMX-HD9813 includes a digital AM/FM tuner, is SiriusXM satellite radio-ready (requires the optional SXV300 tuner) and can play music from your smartphone using a Bluetooth A2DP connection. A USB port with 1.5 amps of charging current is available to charge your phone, or you can connect a USB memory stick to play MP3, WMA and AAC digital audio files. Apple devices from the iPhone 3GS, fourth-generation iTouch and sixth-generation Nano will be recognized when connected to the USB port to make listening to your media collection easy. Finally, an auxiliary input is available to let you play music from any audio source that has a headphone jack or audio output.
The front panel of the radio features a bright, 3-inch, full-color display with day and night modes. Large buttons make it easy to change source options, even when wearing gloves. Rockford has designed this radio with its Element-Ready technology: It features an IPX6 water and dust intrusion rating and has passed the requirements for ASTM D4329 UV exposure testing.
Harley-Davidson Integration Features
As mentioned, the PMX-HD9813 was designed specifically for your Harley and fits perfectly into the fairing while offering direct connections with the factory wiring harnesses. The radio works with the audio control buttons on the left handlebar grip, and a voltmeter and low-voltage warning are included to let you know if you’ve been playing the music too long without running the engine.
Audio and Tuning Features
A high-power, four-channel amplifier built into the radio provides 25 watts of power into 4-ohm loads and an impressive 50 watts when connected to 2-ohm speakers. The Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 includes a seven-band equalizer that allows us to fine-tune the sound of your system to meet your needs. Electronic high- and low-pass crossover with adjustable slopes allows us to integrate a dedicated subwoofer and optimize the system for amazing sound.

Hello,
I have a question my Rockford Fosgate PMX-HD9813 wont play my ipod nano 6th generation, several of my MP3 players and my 2.0 USB Sandisk flash drive I even downloaded your update to the radio hoping that will solve the issue is there a lock code on the radio that is blocking those devices or maybe the USB on the back of the radio is defective? Please help.
Mike Bartells says
I don’t think the radio is compatible with iPod Nano’s, just the iPod Touch models. Most MP3 devices don’t communicate with radios. The thumb drive should definitely work though. Music formats would have to be MP3, WMA, AAC, or DRM. They also mention the drive has to be formatted
