A client from Chesterfield looking to update his NauticStar boat’s stereo system visited our Midlothian location. His existing marine stereo was defective, and he wanted to add something that would give him Bluetooth hands-free as well. He decided on a Clarion marine radio, the M505, and we installed it quickly so he could hit the water that weekend.
The new marine stereo got him through the weekend, but he found out that the existing speakers were not going to cut it. He also was interested in adding satellite radio. We found there was just enough room to upgrade the existing 6 1⁄2” speakers to the larger JL Audio 7.7” marine speakers. The JL Audio 7.7” MX770-CCX-SG-WH marine speakers are moderately priced, but very well-built. The larger 7.7” cones on the midrange portion gives them great bass output in a boat, without necessarily having to use a subwoofer. This helps the sound quality a good bit in situations where you may be limited in space.
Top that off with a SiriusXM tuner, and his new NauticStar boat stereo upgrade was complete – loud, clean and ready to hit the water this summer.
