The wife of a client from Gum Spring, VA, recently purchased a remote start system for his two vehicles as a holiday gift. After having them installed, there was no way he couldn’t return the favor, so he had us install the same thing on his wife’s 2014 Honda Accord!
For his Tacoma and Accord, we’d used the Compustar 2wG9 remote system. That remote actually has the capability of working in two different vehicles, so he was able to have one remote for both. They liked the range and two-way capability of the remote, so they opted for the same remote system for hers. Now she can lock, unlock and start her vehicle and pop the trunk from the new remote control. Not only that, but since it has extended range and two-way function, she can be deep in a building, totally out of sight of the Accord, and still know whether the Honda received the signal.
As you can see in the video, any command sent by the remote will receive a confirmation beep back on the remote, letting you know it worked. If you press a button and don’t get a beep, just walk a bit closer and try again. Much better than walking outside into the cold 15 minutes later, only to realize the car was too far away and didn’t start.
