A client from Glen Allen contacted us about an audio upgrade for his 2016 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic CVO. He had the Harley Davidson Boom! Audio upgrade in it, and that simply wasn’t loud enough to hear his music when he was cruising down the highway. He was going to be out of town for a few weeks, so it was the perfect time for an upgrade since he wouldn’t lose any riding time.
After going over the various Harley Davidson stereo upgrade options we offer, we decided Rockford Fosgate’s Power Series Harley package would be just the ticket.
Rockford Fosgate car audio is practically a household name, and a couple years back, they decided to go after the Harley-Davidson market. They designed a full line of Harley-Davidson–specific audio upgrades. This isn’t “repackaged” car audio equipment: They built everything from the ground up specifically for Harley-Davidson enthusiasts. Geared for maximum efficiency and volume, these products are designed to be loud without taxing the Harley’s electrical system.
On this 2016 Ultra Classic, we removed the OEM Boom! Audio system and replaced the amplifier with the Rockford Fosgate TM400x4ad amplifier. Rated at 100×4, these amps are quite the overachievers, typically bench-tested by Rockford to be in the 130+ watts per channel range. We also used our Harley programmer, to make sure the radio was flashed with the proper sound settings. We pulled the Boom! speakers out of the front and rear, replacing them with Rockford’s TMS65 speakers. These are totally waterproof co-axle 6 1⁄2” speakers that are made for a harsh weather environment.
The end result … loud, clean and ready for spring!
