The Chevy Camaro is definitely a “cool” car if you’re a Chevy person (we know, we know, Ford fans). When a new client from Midlothian stopped by with his clean 2014 Camaro, the one thing lacking was great-sounding audio. He came to the right place!
We started with a new Pioneer NEX head unit that added Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, LCD screen and more. We integrated the new radio into the vehicle using a new dash kit, which added an LCD touchscreen for controlling his factory heating and air controls. Pictures don’t do the new display justice – it has to be seen in person.
Now that we had a better starting point for him to listen to the music on his phone, it was time to step up the speaker system. Since he was working with a budget, we added an Alpine five-channel amplifier to the existing stock speakers. The amplifier allowed us to use the filtering in the amp to take the bass out of the existing speakers, and add an Alpine Type S 12″ subwoofer to handle the low-frequency information. Once the factory speakers weren’t stuck with playing bass, which they aren’t very good at, they sound a lot better and much louder than before.
The result was a modern-day system with all the bells and whistles, and much better sound.
