A client from Powhatan recently brought his 2000 Harley Davidson Road Glide in looking to upgrade to some 2016 technology! His Road Glide had the OEM Harley Davidson stereo and speakers, and just didn’t sound or work with his phone the way he wanted it to.
We spent a little time going over the options, and it really looked like a simple upgrade would fit the bill for him. The AquaticAV AQ-MP-5UBT-H radio upgrade was perfect for his Harley. It’s made as a 100% plug and play option for the 1998-2013 Harley Davidson’s with a OEM radio in the fairing. It maintains his handlebar controls, and gives new features like USB, Bluetooth and more. There’s a great video below that we made detailing the radio’s features, so take a few minutes to check that out!
After changing the radio, it was decided the speakers definitely needed some work! The factory Harley speakers were 16 years old, so it was no surprise they were a little worn out. Since he wasn’t looking to rock the neighborhood, a set of Arc Audio XD Coaxial speakers were a great match. They swapped right out in the factory locations, are able to handle the higher powered radio, but keep the fairing sealed up and water tight.
