Blind Spot Monitoring System for Williamsburg Mini Cooper S

A client from Williamsburg contacted Extreme Audio recently to inquire about upgrading his 2023 Mini Cooper S with a blind spot monitoring system. Given that his Mini is a convertible, the owner found that the folding roof made it difficult to see what was in adjacent lanes. The client was researching collision avoidance solutions and was impressed with the solutions he saw on our website. 

Advent Blind Spot Monitoring System

We suggested that the Advent ADVDSD30 blind spot monitoring system would be the perfect upgrade. This system does an excellent job of monitoring the space in adjacent lanes, whether a vehicle has driven up from behind or when the Mini is overtaking a vehicle. Not all systems will detect vehicles under all these conditions. We’ve tried dozens of solutions, and this has been the best by far.

To prevent unwanted warnings while in a parking lot, the system activates automatically when the vehicle speed passes 15 miles per hour. The system includes an integrated GPS receiver, so it works reliably on all makes and models.

Our team removed the rear bumper to mount and align the radar sensors directly to the vehicle. Once the sensors were aimed perfectly, we reinstalled the bumper cover, making the entire installation invisible from the vehicle’s exterior.

Rear Cross Traffic Alerts

The Advent blind spot monitoring system automatically switches to a cross-traffic alert mode when the vehicle backs up. In this mode, the system will warn when a car approaches from the side. This makes backing out of a parking spot in a busy shopping mall much safer.

With the installation complete and the warning indicators mounted in the A-pillars, we thoroughly tested the system before returning the vehicle to the client. We talked about when the indicators would illuminate and explained that the system provides an audible warning when the turn signal is activated and something is in an adjacent lane. The client was excited to have this new technology to make driving safer.
