A client from Midlothian dropped by Extreme Audio in search of a serious stereo upgrade for his 2021 Harley-Davidson Street Glide CVO. His goal was to have something that would play extremely loudly while sounding great and remaining crystal clear. The client listened to the system on our demo bike and decided that was exactly what he wanted.
We started the upgrade by removing the saddlebags from the bike so we could install a set of Cicada Audio CMB8.S4 Pro-Series midbass drivers. These woofers fire inwards towards the spare tire and are protected by a water-resistant mesh. Next, we installed a set of Cicada Audio CH65.4 6.5-inch coaxial speakers in the front fairing. The last set of speakers was a set of Infinity Kappa Perfect 600X drivers in the rear OEM Pods.
For amplification, we used a Cicada Audio DSP600.4D amplifier to drive the front and rear speakers. This amplifier includes a digital signal processor that allows us to fine-tune the system. We added a Cicada Audio CX150.4 in a bridged configuration to provide tons of power to the midbass drivers.
The client loved the way it sounded and was thrilled that everything was hidden. If your Harley needs an audio upgrade, drop by our store in Mechanicsville or Midlothian and talk to a team member.
Do you’ll port bags?
We do, but not when using 8″ like in this install.
What would it run to put one on a 2001 road king 8 in bag 6.5 on crash bar and 6.9 in the lids mine has the beauty ring around the lid and I love to leave them on there if possible
We’d be happy to put something together for you. There will be quite a few options to choose from. Best bet is to swing by one of our locations with the bike when you have a chance.
