A new client visited us with his 2011 Porsche 911 Carrera to get a new radio installed because of our excellent online reviews. He was looking for a reliable replacement radio that was capable of working with Android Auto, and also wanted to add a backup camera to the car that would show on the new radio screen. Our team was ready with the perfect solution.
We selected a Sony XAV-AX5000 radio that offers both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, and has a great 7″ capacitive touchscreen for easy operation while driving. We integrated a Rydeen Duo backup camera above the rear license plate, giving it a factory-installed look, with a great angle for parking guidance. This camera feeds the radio when the car is in reverse, making backing into a parking spot or garage very easy. We used a NAV-TV interface harness to integrate the radio and camera into the Porsche perfectly.
Once we got everything added, a quick demonstration got him ready for his five-hour drive back home to Pineville, NC.
