A repeat client from North Dinwiddie stopped back by our Midlothian location recently to discuss a second upgrade to his 2011 Kawasaki Vaquero. We’d previously installed new speakers, an amplifier and a Bluetooth device to the OEM stereo. He was looking for a little better sound and more output.
We installed a new Sony DSX-M55BT marine radio to replace the OEM Kawasaki stereo system. This would allow for better sound quality via pre-amplified signal being fed to the Arc Audio amplifier. We integrated the OEM handlebar controls via a PAC Audio interface to keep them working like factory. In place of the Arc Audio 5 1⁄4” we’d installed before, we installed a new set of Arc Audio Moto602 6 1⁄2” co-axles using 3D printed speaker adapters. The larger speaker, combined with the better audio output of the new radio, resulted in a good bit more volume and a better tone.
