A client from Glen Allen called us recently, looking to enhance her backing-up safety with a 2013 VW Beetle backup camera. She’d done some research online and had come across a plug-and-play interface for her Beetle made by Crux Interfacing Solutions. When she called Crux, they referred her to us as one of their authorized dealers.
We install quite a few backup camera systems, to say the least. Crux is one of the many manufacturers we deal with that make custom plug-and-play interfaces for adding a reverse camera to an existing factory screen. Instead of having to change the mirror or add an external video screen, the interface means the camera’s image pops right up on your factory-installed screen as soon as you put it in reverse.
In the case of this client’s VW Beetle, they even make cameras that are designed specifically for such vehicles. One of the factory license plate lights pops right out, and the camera pops back into the same hole. No cutting, drilling or any other modifications are needed to add the camera. As you can tell from the pictures, everything looks just like it came that way from the factory.
Having a hard time seeing behind your vehicle when backing up? We have two Richmond area locations – in Mechanicsville and Midlothian. Give us a call, or stop by to see what options are available for your vehicle.
