Midlothian Client Upgrades 2016 Road Glide Ultra CVO Stereo

A client from Chesterfield dropped by our Midlothian facility, looking to upgrade the stereo system in his 2016 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Ultra CVO. We’d recently done a wiring rescue on his brother’s Harley, and he wanted to upgrade from the Harley Boom! Audio system currently on his bike.

Even with three separate amplifiers in the Harley Boom! system, the performance is still pretty underwhelming. The client heard what our Arc Audio Harley system was capable of, and he was sure he’d be much happier with that.

We started by removing two of the Boom! amps that run the front and tour pack speakers. We replaced those with one ARC Audio Moto600.4. That one Arc Audio amplifier puts out a whopping 150 watts RMS to each of the four speakers. Then we replaced the front and rear speakers with ARC Audio Moto602 6 1⁄2” co-axle speakers.

In the bag lids, we retained the Boom! Audio 5×7” speakers and amplifier. We would usually replace these with ARC Audio Moto692 6×9″ adapters, but since he had the power locks on the CVO lids, there wasn’t enough room for those to fit. He rides in the rain, so putting in a non-watertight 5×7” was not really an option. The Boom! speakers in the bags help fill in some bass, though.

We topped off the audio upgrades with some Racesport RGB LED’s, and the client had a Harley Road Glide that sounds great and looks great as well. The new Arc speakers are much louder and cleaner than the previously installed Boom! setup.

Looking to upgrade the audio on your Harley? Stop by one of our Richmond-area locations, in Mechanicsville or Midlothian, today! You can also reach us by e-mail using our contact page.

There are quite a few options that would greatly outperform the Harley Boom systems. Are you in the Richmond area, where you could swing by one of our locations to go over some options?
