A repeat client from Mechanicsville came in with his new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. We’d tinted a few vehicles for him in the past, but this go around, he was looking to add navigation and a backup camera.
Adding a backup camera to a Jeep Wrangler is a common job for us. In most cases, we add the camera to the rear tire with a custom bracket, but in this case, he wanted to be able to leave the cover on the rear tire. With the license plate bracket being so far off-center and having its view blocked by the tire, right down on the bumper beside the hitch ended up being the place to go.
He wanted solid, full-featured navigation for the Wrangler that was also easy to use. Alpine always fits the bill when you want such modern features, but want to keep it simple at the same time. Its customizable favorites menu lets you tailor it to your specific needs and everyday functions. Top that unit off with SiriusXM, and he had exactly what he wanted. You’ll even notice, if you look real close, that we added a patch of 3M paint protection under the antenna to keep his paint scratch-free for years to come.
