One of our regular clients from Mechanicsville came to us with a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, looking for a backup camera. Anyone who’s hooked up a trailer to a truck knows that lining everything up to connect the hitch is a two-person job. Well, not when you have Extreme Audio add a backup camera to your truck.
On this particular truck, they wanted something clean and low-profile. We added a camera that integrates into the factory tailgate handle. If you look at the before-and-after pictures, you can hardly tell it’s there.
Since this is a “work style” truck, it didn’t have the Onstar controls in the mirror. This allowed us to change the mirror out for a model that incorporates the 4.3-inch camera screen right in. It automatically turns on when you put the truck in Reverse, and goes back to being a regular mirror when the vehicle is in Drive.
