A client from Moseley recently stopped in with his 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Like the mass majority of Jeep owners, he was looking to get more sound out of his vehicle. He simply couldn’t crank up the system and hear it when the top was off.
The factory stereo in the Jeep Wrangler is notorious for not having the greatest sound quality, so getting a new stereo in the Wrangler was high on his list. He wanted to keep the overall system on a budget, and a Pioneer AVH-200EX fit the bill quite well. It gives him more modern features like Bluetooth, but also makes it easier to build a stereo “system.”
The new radio powers his existing, upgraded speakers and filters the bass out of them so they can play more loud and clean.
To handle the bass end of things, we added Alpine’s new SBV-10-WRA 10′ under-seat subwoofer solution. Made to fit 2007–2017 Jeep Wrangler JKUs, it’s custom-molded to fit directly under the passenger side front seat. By being in the front of the Jeep, and firing the woofer off the floor, it keeps all the bass up front of the Wrangler even when the top is off. Most subwoofer solutions for Jeep Wranglers put a subwoofer in the back somewhere, and you lose a good bit of your output when the top comes off.
Now he has easy cellphone connectivity, more volume and a lot more bass.
