A repeat client recently visited Extreme Audio‘s Midlothian location. We’d done some interior lighting upgrades on his wife’s vehicle, and he was interested in a little bit of the same for his new 2023 Land Rover Range Rover. He was also interested in adding some sort of rear seat entertainment for passengers in the back.
The Range Rover comes factory-equipped with mood lighting under the front and back seats, but they are in only one color, and he preferred having the multiple color options that we did for their other vehicle. Since this vehicle was brand-new, we opted to leave the OEM lighting as-is and add our own lighting separately. He simply turns the OEM lighting off, and ours is now the default on when you open the doors. The new XK Glow controller gives full control over colors, patterns and more right from a smartphone.
For rear seat entertainment, a traditional overhead monitor is not an option because the roof is one with the panoramic view. The headrests also have vehicle safety features built in, and you don’t want to change those out either. Voxx offers a “seatback” video system that mounts to the headrest mounting posts and hovers a large 10.1″ screen right in front of rear seat passengers. With these connected to the vehicle’s mobile hotspot, they have unlimited access to Android Apps, Netflix, YouTube and more.
