A local Honda car dealership contacted Extreme Audio in Mechanicsville to find out if we could install a remote car starter on a brand-new 2018 Honda Accord sedan. We checked with our suppliers, but none of them listed a solution for the 2018 Accord. Given our experience with Honda remote starter installations, we offered to have a look at the vehicle, do some testing and see if we could find a solution.
The dealership dropped off the vehicle and our technicians set to work on testing the wiring. Confident in our findings, we set to work installing a Compustar remote car starter. To give the system a factory-installed feel, we used a Blade AL integration module to allow the factory key fob to start the car. The client simply presses the lock button three times in short succession and the car will start. They can shut the vehicle down by repeating the process.

Just keep in mind that installation quality is the most important factor for a reliable system, so judge the shops you visit based on your confidence in their techs and whether quality seems to be their focus vs. slinging cars out the door as quickly as possible.

$800 for the system he was quoting you isn’t bad at all. It was something with more features and range than the one we were demo’ing here. I know they do phenomenal, clean work there. With installation being the most important factor of a remote start, that’s a big thing.

I have been searching for a remote start solution for an Accord Sport and this looks great. Have one question…why do the DRL and side marker (or indicator lights not easy to tell) lights flash rapidly just before the car starts?
Good Morning! That’s actually just an effect that happens when videoing LED lights. To the naked eye they do not flash or strobe like that.
Thank you Mike for the clarification. Wasn’t sure if that could be the cause since at other times the strobe effect is not evident.
I live in the DMV area but about 100 miles from your stores. Do you have any affiliate close to the Gaithersburg/Fredrick area who you would trust to install a remote start on a manual transmission with the link to the OEM key fob? If not, will have to plan to come visit you guys.
