Emergency Lighting Upgrade for Farmville Ford F350 Work Truck

F350 LightingThe owner of a tree company in Farmville recently contacted Extreme Audio to inquire about upgrading their new Ford F350 with emergency strobe lighting. We’ve upgraded several vehicles for this company before, so we knew what sort of solution they were after. After inspecting the vehicle and the factory-installed strobe kit, it was obvious that it wasn’t up to their standards. We designed an upgrade solution that would keep their staff safe when the truck is parked at a work site.

Our lighting project started with the addition of four Wicked Warnings Razor LED strobes to the front grille of the F350. Our team mounted the lights just above and below the chrome trim piece, then routed the wiring through the hood and safely into the body of the vehicle near the hinge.

The second part of the project was to install three Wicked Warnings Thin-X light strips on each side of the vehicle. The first LED strip is mounted in the badge in the front fenders just ahead of the doors. The other two LED strips are mounted on the support brackets for the side steps.

The final upgrade was for the rear of the vehicle and included two sets of Wicked Warnings LED HAW DUO dome lights. One set of lights is mounted in the reverse light housings, and the second set is in the cargo light bar on the back of the cab.

All the lights are controlled by the factory-installed upfitter switch panel in the overhead console of the truck. The operator can activate the front, side or rear sets independently. A cool feature of Wicked Warnings lights is their flood mode. When activated by a fourth switch, all of the lights light up solid white to illuminate the area around the vehicle. It’s like having built-in work lights and is impressive to see.
