A return client from Mechanicsville wanted to replace the single DIN radio in his ’99 Chevy Corvette for something with navigation. We had already installed the Alpine 8″ navigation system in his Pontiac GTO, so it only made sense to go with another Alpine navigation unit. This time, we decided step it up to the 9″ navigation option.
We ended up having to move the existing climate controls down to the bottom of the existing dash to make room for the massive Alpine headunit. While we were modifying the radio bezel, we went ahead and molded in a switch panel in the console so he could control his LED lights throughout the vehicle. Once we had the bezel properly shaped and molded, we painted it to match the exterior color of the vehicle. We also went ahead and painted the extension on the other side of the steering column to match. When it was all done, the screen looked absolutely massive in the dash and dominates the entire center console.
