Chevy Silverado Safety Lighting Upgrade for Midlothian Client

Silverado Safety LightingA repeat client from Midlothian recently brought his 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD to Extreme Audio to have us install safety lighting. We’ve upgraded a few vehicles for this customer in the past, so we had a good idea what he wanted. After inspecting the vehicle and confirming our plan, we put together a lighting package that would help ensure that the vehicle was visible when parked near the road.

We started the project with four Wicked Warnings Thin-X lights for the front of the truck. These LED lights feature a set of amber and white LEDs that strobe back and forth. Our team mounted the lights in the corners of the front grille so they’d be easily visible while looking like they belonged on the truck.

Next, we added a set of Rigid Industries D-Series DOT-approved fog lights to the front bumper of the truck. These lights produce 1,760 lumens of output and feature a wide, flat beam-pattern that won’t blind oncoming drivers. As always, we made sure the lights were mounted securely and aimed as per Rigid’s instructions.

The last upgrade to the front of the truck was a set of GTR Lighting Ultra 2 upgraded LED bulbs for the stock headlight assemblies. GTR Lighting leads in the industry in reflector-compatible bulb upgrades in terms of accurate beam patterns and fantastic light output.

Emergency Lighting Ensures Safety

We installed a Wicked Warnings Auto Flasher (WAF) module on the cab lights so that they strobe on and off when the rear emergency lighting is activated. We upgraded the reverse lights with LED strobes to attract additional attention. Finally, we mounted a 48-inch Putco Workblade light under the tailgate. This lightbar alternates between amber and white and is impressively bright.

As always, all the wiring for the safety lighting system on this Silverado is routed safely through the vehicle, so that it’s protected from rubbing or damage from water exposure. We made sure that the system was easy to use and that the client understood the function of the control switches. If you’re interested in upgrading your work vehicle with emergency lighting, drop by Extreme Audio in Mechanicsville or Midlothian. You can also reach us by phone or by e-mail using the contact form on our website.

How did you attach the wicked warning lights to the grille?

We used a piece of ABS plastic cut and glued with something called Fusor to adhere it to the backside of the grill. A pic can be seen here https://www.extremeaudio.org/chevy-silverado-safety-lighting-upgrade-for-midlothian-client/#jp-carousel-18053
