A previous client from Midlothian stopped by to see us recently. We had installed an Alpine 8″ Navigation to his Ford truck, and now he was looking for a new navigation system and backup camera for his wife’s 2010 Chevrolet Camaro Transformers Edition.
This car is his wife’s baby, so she was definitely concerned about how the radio would look in the dash. She wanted to maintain any of the factory features, such as Bose Audio and Onstar. She also wanted to add a backup camera. Since they wanted it to be easy to use, the same Alpine navigation system her husband had was definitely the best choice. In this case, it was the INE-W957HD, which is a 7″ version of the one in their Ford.
Since she really wanted to maintain the factory interior style, we knew just the mounting kit for integrating the new Alpine Navigation, while keeping the OEM look. The PAC Audio RPK5-GM4101 is a full-installation adapter that maintains all the factory functions and even reuses the factory HVAC knobs to keep it looking original. We partnered that with an OEM-style under-lip backup camera from Rydeen to give a clear 170-degree view behind the Camaro when backing up.
