A client recently came to us from the Brandermill area of Midlothian who apparently had a navigation system already installed in his 2013 GMC Sierra Denali when he purchased it from a dealer, but just couldn’t stand the way it operated. It was very difficult to use and was just not giving him the functionality he expected from it. This is very common among manufacturers’ navigation units compared to aftermarket alternatives.
Luckily, we happen to have a Sierra very similar to his and have it equipped with Alpine’s massive 9″ Restyle multimedia, navigation, touchscreen unit – the X009-GM. Alpine’s Restyle units are specially made to fit very specific vehicles. The unit is designed to integrate with OEM functions like the HVAC systems, vents, switches and more.
Not only do they have all the latest features, such as navigation, Bluetooth, a 9″ LCD Touch Screen, camera inputs and more, but they can also tie directly into the vehicle’s diagnostics! You are able to monitor various parts of the engine and the transmission, and even read trouble codes and clear them. These units also let you retain any factory features, such as Bose, backup cameras, On Star, SiriusXM satellite radio and more.
After a detailed demonstration of the Alpine Restyle unit, this client knew it was going to eliminate all of the issues he had with the old unit as well as add some new, extra features.
After having the navigation unit installed, he decided to come back and have the factory camera replaced with one that had a better resolution and a wider viewing area. Since this truck is so long, he often has to pull really far into a parking space for it not to hang out into the parking lot. We decided to add a front camera in addition to the reverse camera, so he can get a good view in front of the big hood on the truck.
After having the unit installed for a couple weeks, he’s informed us that he is immensely happier with the performance of the new navigation unit, as well as the other multimedia functions. Everything is big and easy to locate onscreen, and it simply works the way it’s supposed to, without all the bugs and glitches he was experiencing before.
We love making customers happy and solving their problems! Are you looking to make a massive upgrade to your Sierra, Silverado, F150, Ram or Jeep Wrangler? Come check out Alpine’s awesome new Restyle units in our store for a full demonstration. You’ll be glad you did. You can Contact Us Here.
Great Job on this install. I went researching for the unit and found it but it states only for upper dash models. Where can I find the trim piece for the application here? I’m located in Texas if I was closer I would have y’all complete this.
Sadly this unit has been discontinued by Alpine. It’s not impossible that a dealer near you may still have one in stock though. I’d visit http://www.alpine-usa.com and use the dealer locator to see if anyone perhaps still has one in stock.
