A client from Chesterfield contacted our Midlothian location, looking to add a remote start to her 2016 Ford Explorer. She needed something that would start the truck in the mornings, as well as after a long day at work, so range capabilities on the remote were important.
After going through the various remote options, she chose a Compustar remote system with long range and two-way confirmation. Two-way confirmation means that if she’s in her building at work and presses the start button, her remote will actually receive a signal back from the truck to confirm that it started. That way, she knows if she was within range or not, and can walk a little closer if needed.
This particular system included two of the “Slice” remote controls, with up to 4,000 ft of range and matching two-way remotes. We also added the ability to start the vehicle from the OEM key FOBs, so if she didn’t want to carry the second remote, she still had the option to start the truck. You can see how both of the variations work in the video.
All of our systems come with a lifetime warranty on the remote start and installation labor, so now she’s ready to fight off the cold for the life of the vehicle. We even replace the remote batteries for free for the life of the system.
