A repeat client came by Extreme Audio to talk about upgrading his new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. We had added Kuryakyn Bluetooth speakers to his previous Harley, and now he had a new 2009 Harley Ultra Classic and wanted to upgrade the stereo system on it.
Unlike his old Harley, the Ultra Classic has a full fairing, which means he had all kinds of great options to choose from. After checking out the various Harley stereos we offer, he decided on the AquaticAV AQ-MP-5BT-H (you can check this unit out in detail here). Made to plug directly into the Harley, it retains the handlebar controls, is waterproof and also has Bluetooth for music streaming.
For audio upgrades, he decided on Rockford Fosgate’s HD9813SG-TKIT (you can read more about this here). Rockford’s Harley kits are designed from the ground up as complete Harley-Davidson solutions. This particular kit is made for the batwing fairing, and comes with front speakers, amplifier and mounting kit.
All wires and plugs needed are included, which makes for a very clean installation. The Rockford TM400x4AD marine-grade amplifier that comes with the kit is a four-channel amp, so it has the extra outputs available to run an extra set of Rockford TMS5 5 1⁄4” Harley speakers in the tour pack and cover the rear speakers. We topped off the installation with a Stinger SPX925-HD Harley-Davidson battery upgrade, and he was ready to rock.

There’s quite a few to choose from. We’ve been really happy with the Arc Audio Moto Series, and the Rockford Power Series Harley equipment. The “loudest” you can really do would be some sort of horn/loudspeaker scenario, but it depends a lot on the type of sound your after. Are you local to our area? If so, swing by and take a listen to our display to see if it’s the sort of thing you’re looking for.
