A client from Amelia dropped by our Midlothian location to discuss a 2000 Harley-Davidson Street Glide stereo upgrade. His old radio had gone out on him, due to not being waterproof, and he was hoping to avoid that in the future. After looking at the various Harley-Davidson stereo upgrades we offer, he decided on the Aquatic AV AQ-MP-5BT-H Harley-Davidson–specific stereo.
The Aquatic AV Harley Radio is made specifically for the 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson models that are factory-equipped with stereo systems. Offering modern features like Bluetooth and a waterproof front, it’s a perfect plug-and-play upgrade to the factory Harley stereo. It retains the factory handlebar controls as well, with no additional wiring or programming. (You can read more about the AQ-MP-5BT-H here.)
One additional perk to the Aquatic AV Harley stereo is that it’s significantly more powerful than almost all other radios out there.
As you can see in the pictures, there was a mess in the fairing and the bag of this Harley. We were able to remove the old radio and small amp from the fairing, and another small amp in one of the bags. Once we pulled all of those wires out of his fairing, he had a much cleaner and more-serviceable installation.
We also upgraded the wiring and added waterproof connectors for the bags.
